Meet Recap

In a hotly contested match, the Redford Union Girls Varsity Bowling team fell to Annapolis High School Tuesday night at Mayflower Lanes in Redford, winning 14 out of 30 points. The Panthers lost the first two games, which were bowled in the Baker format, 126 to 134 and 130 to 140. The next two games were bowled in the traditional format, with RU losing the first–743 to 754 and winning the second, 684 to 552. The Panthers were led by Alissa Elliott, bowling 171 and Brianna Clapham adding 168. The girls’ record for the season is now 6-4-1. The Panther’s next match is against Romulus High School on Tuesday, February 7, at 3:30p.m. at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park. The RU bowling squad is coached by David Battistelli and Roy Biggs.

For those interested in supporting the Redford Union Bowling program, they will be holding a fundraiser this Saturday, February 4 from 1-3 p.m. at Mayflower Lanes in Redford. The cost is $20, which can be paid at the door. You will enjoy two hours of bowling, shoe rental, two slices of pizza and pop. There will also be door prizes available via raffle.
