The RU Panthers, put up an impressive challenge with just 7 swimmers, against over 20 swimmers, from Garden City. The Panthers, edge out GC, in the night first event with an impressive 2:05.0 which is 9 seconds faster than they swam just a month ago. RU also won the second event, 200 freestyle with Ray Samuel winning this distance, for the first time. He also won the 500 free, for the third straight meet with another season best time. The Panthers also won the 100 backstroke with Mac Keyandwy, winning with his season’s best time as well.
With just a few more swimmers, the Panthers, would most likely, have just one loss to date. Coach Stuart Mair, hopes to build more excitement to the program. The swimmers, have improved tremendously and I hope their enthusiasm, attracts more young men, to the program.
